Christian Marriage Part 1 – Biblical Marriage, Divorce and such

I haven´t written here in a long time, I even had trouble logging in because I forgot my log in information, woops haha! But I finally found it and wanted to write something that has been going on in my life.

I actually got married very recently, well it has almost been a year now and I wanted to talk more about marriage, and christian marriages.

For me marriage is very holy, it is something we should treasure but in todays world unfortunatly it isn´t like that.

I want to pull a few scriptures about marriage before I start getting into it more.

Genesis 1:27-28:
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’ “

Genesis 2:24:
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”

Mark 10:9:
“Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Proverbs 12:4:

“A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.”

Ephesians 5:22-33:

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.

For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies.
He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of his body.
“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church.
However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”

1. God Created Man and Woman To be together.
2. When married we are not supposed to seperate.
3. God Hates Divorce and Only Reason for Divorce is sexual immorality or abandonment by an unbeliever. Nothing Else!!

For me these 3 points are so important when we talk about marriage and especially Christian Marriage. Because in todays world we get married for the wrong reasons and then it ends up in divorce for the wrong reasons so if we start right it will also end right.

Firstly build your foundation.

Me and my husband started out getting to know eachother first. We read the bible together and both of us wanted to start right.

If you have your morals right and your foundation in God it will also go right.

Fights Come, We are Human.

Fights accure, me and my husband fight now and then, and we do so over stupid things. But that is not the reason to divorce, never is. Everyone fights because we are not the same. We are two different beings. Divorce is never the solution, no matter what anyone says.

I am not in love anymore.

Not a reason for divorce. You might not be in your honeymoon stage anymore but not having feelings is just bull. If you didn´t love him/her in the first place why did you get married? Never marry during your lovey dovey stage is also something important! Let God lead you, always!! If he thinks you are right for eachother then marry.

Christians divorce as much as non-christians.

I actually looked it up and this is a big fat lie! Those who keep to God and have God first in their lives will not divorce. The real procentage is actually more like 30 % which is still high but nowhere near what non-christians do.

Back to my third point up top, God Hates Divorce and Only Reason for Divorce is sexual immorality or abandonment by an unbeliever. Nothing Else!!

This is biblical,

Malachi 2:16: “For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the Lord, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless.”

Matthew 19:9: “And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”

Matthew 5:32: “But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”

1 Corinthians 7:15: “But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace.”

If you divorce on any other grounds, than pointed above, you sin and commit adultery. That is just the truth and the fact of the bible itself.

So I encourage you to do it Gods way, cause it is the right way and you will be so much happier!!

I got so sad the other day, speaking of marriage, of a new trend in America called, Divorce Selfie. I cannot believe things like that is happening in our world. Making fun of something so serious as divorce, is just sad. People actually take their own lives because of divorce and now people want to celebrate that! Our world is actually turning evil good and it is quite frightening to see..

But anyway, I Hope this got you thinking a little about Marriage. This might have been a little bit of a sadder post or more on the Divorce side of things so I will probably make another post about how Marriage makes God so Happy 😀 It is a joyful day when people get married and we should rejoice!!

Part 2 Coming later then 😀 Woop!!

Church Bullying

I felt so strong about writing about this yesterday so today I´m going to. Church Bullism as I call it. It happens all the time and sadly it has happened to me too. You might not think this is bullying but in my eyes, yes it is cause it can hurt the person so bad. But first the 5 stages of Church Bullying as I see it. This is a personal thing I came up with so if you have anything to add or comment please let me know.

Stage 1: Saying Hello to the person when they enter but not noticing or talking to them at all during their whole stay at church. (This is easier to happen in bigger Churches and in that case it might not be bullying but when it comes to small Churches, yes it is. Especially if the Church member attends often)

Stage 2: Not saying hello or acknowledging that the person is there

Stage 3: When the person is trying to talk or interact, ignoring and freezing them out

Stage 4: Talking bad about them behind their back or even in front of them

Stage 5: Pushing them down, calling names and really being a bad person towards them
Stage five is obviously the worst but sadly it does happen in Church too.

((This is going to be a long post so if you want to sit down, do it now haha!))

My story is the first stage. Ive been in my Church since I was a little kid. Yet every time I´m at Church no one bothers to talk to me, if I do talk to them, its about 2 min of hi how are you and then they go to someone else. Am I the problem then? That has often been my question. And maybe sometimes I´m shy to talk to them but it cant be all me. So today I have a few pointers for those who get “bullied” and those who are the bullies.

For the Church

  • If you ever see someone sit alone, go talk to them, you are the Church and they do need your help as well
  • People often say wwjd. And yes think that way, what would Jesus do in this situation. He wouldn´t sit on his chair that´s for sure.  But I also want to share an example of wwyd (What Would You Do)

1. You see your best friend get beaten on the street, would u help them? Of course you would. Okay…

2. You get beaten on the street, your best friend walks by. would they help you? probably. Hmm..

3. A complete stranger gets beaten on the street, would you help them? Probably not, you don´t know them..

4. You get beaten on the street and a stranger walks by, would you want their help? Of course!!!

So why wont you help them?? In this case I love the bible verse: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” (Luke 6:31 or Matthew 7:12)

What does this example have to do with anything?? Yes its the same in Church… Church is not the building, its the people. Even though we are saved doesn´t mean we are free from harm, guilt, depression etc. People still get that as Christians. That´s why we! the Church needs to be there and help those who are down, be the friend you want.

For the ones feeling bullied or left out

Last Sunday the preacher at my Church had a good sermon about what we can do when we have a problem. And I´m going to adapt that to those who feel left out. They were 3 things you could do or try when you have a problem or are feeling down about something in your life.

1. Can you do anything about it?
2. Can others help you?
3. Let God take it

In a lot of situations you might have to use all 3 but lets see about bullying in Church.

1. Can you do anything? In a lot of situations you can actually say something, go to your pastor or someone you trust and tell them how you feel and whats going on.

2. Can others help you? In this case I´m thinking about people from other Churches or maybe even your family. They can talk to the people in the Church or pray for you.

3. Let God take it. Put it in Gods hands. Pray and ask for help and you shall receive.

But sometimes it´s so bad that people are actually pushing you down. In that case if not any of the points work and it just goes on. I would advice to start looking for a new Church. Church is supposed to be your home, your family. And a real family doesn´t push you down but try to help you up and help you grow.

I wish as Christians we would understand that we can´t do things on our own, we need help and we need to help each other sometimes. God made us that way. I hope this made an influence on someone cause in the long run, We need each other and we need God. He loves us and we need to love each other because he loved us first! =)

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

Alcohol, facts and the Bible

This is a very sensitive topic for some people but I want to bring it up since it recently has been so much on my heart. In this post I am going to put up a few bible verses around the subject. Some research around the topic and my own point of view.

Firstly there is a lot about this topic in the bible good? bad? We will see.

Here is a quote from a page I found. “By the reading of scripture in the original language, scholarship presents that Jesus did not drink or make wine like today’s more alcoholic wine. How can this be? Most assume that the word “wine” in the Bible is always alcoholic or equivalent to modern wine. The Bible affirms that “wine” could mean alcoholic wine or non-alcoholic grape juice (1 Tim 3:8, Titus 2:3). “

  • “Wine” is called the blood of the grape (Gen 49:11-12, Heb yayin, Deut 32:14, Heb chemer).
  • “Red wine” is a description of a vineyard (Isa 27:2, Heb chemer).
  • “Wine” refers to the grape juice from the grapes of the field (Deut 11:14, 2 Chr 31:5, Heb tirosh, Jer 40:10, 12, Heb yayin).
  • Scripture describes “wine” that is in the grape (Isa 65:8, Heb. tirosh).
  • The grape juice of the wine-press is “wine” (Prov 3:10, Heb. tirosh, Isa 16:10, Jer 48:33, Heb. yayin).

another page says this

“The Hebrew word translated wine in Genesis 14:18 is yayin. This word is used over 130 times in the Hebrew Bible to mean fermented wine, not grape juice.

This same beverage, when used excessively, causes drunkenness. Genesis 9:21 says that Noah drank too much yayin and became drunk. Lot also became drunk on this beverage (Genesis 19:30-36), and so did Nabal (1 Samuel 25:36). Nevertheless, God told his people to enjoy yayin at the yearly festivals (Deuteronomy 14:26). In addition to using wine as a beverage, God also commanded the Levitical priests to include in the sacrifices a portion of wine (yayin) as a drink offering (Exodus 29:40). These scriptures make it clear that there can be a right and a wrong use of wine.

So how can we know if what God made was alcholic or non alcoholic Wine? Yes the one you get drunk from ofcourse but we also see it in the scriptures and today that it is NOT the same wine as we drink today.
But if we take when Jesus turned water into wine for example that would have ment that Jesus was for drunkeness since that would have made the people drunk and that would go against scripture.

1 Peter 4:3 – For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.

So according to scripture and facts Jesus didnt make wine with alcohol yet people today believe that. Yet the bible doesnt say dont drink alcohol but dont get drunk from it.

Ephesians 5:18 – And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit

Now remember the wine they are talking about is the alcoholic one. And also not the one we have today. Because today we have alot more alcohol in the wine we drink so just a glass can make you light headed yes, even drunk. Now you might laugh but this Ive seen myself. And if you dont believe me here is some facts from another page.

Three examples of people who has gotten dizzy from just a glass of wine

Romans 14:21 – It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.

I want to put this in cause for me Alcohol is not good for you and this is why I don’t drink. Alcohol is something that is very easy to get addicted to like any other drug and it effects people in so many different kinds of ways. Ive seen it through my own family cause half of them use alcohol in very bad ways. Ive also seen it in my friends how they start to almost kill each other thanks to this little thing. And what is better? to take a sip and maybe get addicted or to leave it be and know for a fact it wont destroy your life? I choose the second option but that’s up to one self.

God sees your heart. For me its also a big thing around other people. You always have someone that looks up to you and you are always a role model. If you drink and they see you they might fall themselves. Always think before you act and always others before yourself. We are in the end times. Its time to walk in Jesus footsteps and do has he did. Be the role model you know you can be! =D

And to finish I want to put a few facts about alcohol on here:

  • Alcohol is the most widely used drug in America. It is the third largest cause of death in the United States, second only to heart disease and cancer. Alcohol and tobacco use are a significant “risk factor” in heart disease and cancer. It accounts for over 100,000 deaths per year in this country alone. It is also the leading cause of death for people between the ages of 15 and 24.
  • In the 2011 report, the WHO stated that more than two million people per year were losing their lives due to direct intoxication, or alcohol-related illness or injury.
  • Over 60 percent of admissions to emergency rooms are either directly or indirectly due to drug or alcohol usage.
  • 28 percent of all college dropouts are alcohol users.
  • 95 percent of all college campus violence is alcohol related.

Prayer and Fast for my country, Finland

This week is a very important week for everyone here in Finland. Especially for the government and us christians. Finland is the only nordic country (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark). Who doesnt allow gay marriages. We dont have it in our law system so to say but now they are actually going to vote about it on friday and then again later on. So now I just wanted to post this to all christian readers. Please pray for my country that they wont allow it! We want to keep the purity that God has put down between women and men here in Finland. I love living here and Finland has always been a prayer nation but so much could change just because of this!

The bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin. And no I am not judging people here. I in fact have a really good friend who is gay but that doesnt mean what he is doing isnt a sin. I wont go into it more this time cause that would be a long blogpost but I am asking my readers please pray and thank you in advance. God is great. He has done so many miracles for me lately I cant believe its true.

I am about to go to the US and a few weeks ago I got a text message from my landlord that I have missed a few payments and that if I dont pay it by the end of the month Im out. I prayed like crazy and a week ago he texted me again and said. This friday or youre out. I paniced but 2 days later I got a letter home saying the city I live in will pay the whole thing plus I got 1000 extra cash. I was so shocked. God is amazing!! and then Ive been scared that I wouldnt make it to my flight for the US cause its so early in the morning and yesterday that solved itself. So God hears our prayers and he answers them.

So never stop praying!! He loves us and he wants to help us when we are in need.

I wanted to write so much more but that is for another time

Have an awesome day!! ^_^

Few bible verses bout prayer before you go:

Matthew 7:7  “Ask, and it will be given to you seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

Mark 11:24  Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

John 14:13-14 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it

I´m not perfect

Many times I´ve seen christians who think this. That because of Christ and that they are christians, that they are perfect and that image has spread to the non believers. They think that because they are not perfect they can´t join church or they can´t become christians. This is so sad and horrible.

Me myself can say hundreds of hundreds of times that I have failed to be a “perfect christian” but lately I´ve noticed more, it´s not about how much you read the bible or how much you pray but it´s your devotion to God. It´s how you live your life besides praying and bible reading. Do you thank God for your day? Do you thank your family for what they do? your friends? Do you appreciate what you have around you? Do you help others in need? Are you generous? Are you positive? Do you do what you can to make life better? All these small things are facts for being a “good christian” All these things make us better as the followers of Christ.

We need to stop thinking that we are perfect and start thinking we are children of God. What would Jesus do as the saying goes. I do not want my friends or non believers around me thinking I´m better than they are cause I´m really not. I fall all the time but I have one thing they don´t. I have salvation. And that is what we want them to see…We want them to see Christ through us. Not that we are better than them but that we are servants to them. We help when no one would, we thank when no one else does and we give when others are selfish. And that makes us real christians.

Don´t get me wrong. Praying and reading the bible is a big part of the christian life. That is how we get close to God and what he wants for us but we also have to remember that, that is not all. Don´t focus on what you´re doing wrong, focus on God. 🙂 Just a bit of what came to my mind today.

Have a Great Day 🙂

A song from the heart

I wanted to publish this song because its so wonderful. When I listen to it or sing it I just feel Gods presence near. I believe worship is a big and very important part of the christian life. There are numbers of it mentioned in the bible and my favorite person who worships God must be David. Just to be able to give your all and not think of anything but him for that particular moment. Myself, I am part of the worship team at my church and have been for many years now. We sang this song at church the other day and I just felt like God was there and it just made me so happy. Worship is a happy moment, God touches your heart.

Im gonna put up here a few bible verses that explains it more and that it is important since its mentioned in the bible so much =P (These are all from the English standard version bible)

Psalm 100:2 Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Im gonna stop here for a second. Ive heard it so many times. “I cant worship cause I cant sing”…Wait what?! really?!… Yes. A lot of people have that problem. But you´re forgetting one thing. God is the almighty God. Do you really think he cares if you cant sing? I mean. Does it bother him if you worship with all your heart and dont have a singing voice ? Not at all. We dont know how God hears it. To him just you worshiping with all your heart and singing out, God will be so Happy and Joyful. God listens to your heart. Dont let fear stop your from singing and praising the Lord 🙂

John 4:23 – But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.

Psalm 150:6Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

Colossians 3:16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Psalm 95:1-6 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

Psalm 146:1-2Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

Psalm 95:6Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

Isaiah 12:5“Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.

Luke 4:8And Jesus answered him, “It is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.’”

Matthew 18:20For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.

( I put this in cause worship is better in a group dont ya think? =D )

Psalm 84:10For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

( thats what it feels like when we worship the lord)

Revelation 15:4Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

Psalm 118:19  – Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord.

Psalm 71:8My mouth is filled with your praise, and with your glory all the day.

I want to finish with this one. When we worship the lord our mouths are filled with praise and how you start the day will affect the rest of it.

Worship and praise is a big part of being a christian. There are many places where it says that heaven will be filled with it. Its not filled with sitting in the dark, reading, praying by yourself, though that can be good sometimes too. No, heaven is filled with worship, prayer, songs, praise and joy so why not do that here on earth? God loves it so why should we not do what makes God happy? And you know, what God loves, usually (always haha) we love it too =D

Side post, Jesus saves

A small follow up to my previous post, I didnt wanna put it in the same post so I will post it here. A song that is actually named Jesus saves, really good, have a look and listen 😉

You have probably heard Jeremy Camp sing this song, but I like this version more =)

I dont believe in religion, I believe in God

“Religion kills, Jesus saves”

Now a days our world is kinda messed up, just saying =P There are so many religions out there and so many people calling themselves Christians. Yet every time something happens it´s the Christians fault. Not the Muslims, not the Buddhists, not the Hindus, the Christians.

I don´t really like calling myself a christian no more. The term has been violated so much that even people who go around killing each other or those who do adultery etc etc call themselves christian. I call myself more a disciple of Jesus or a believer or Christ. That is also a reason I say I don´t believe in religion. Religion is not what Jesus teaches. Here are some examples of what religion does and what Jesus does.

Religion                                                        Jesus

– Kills                                                              – saves
– Teaches Rules                                         – Teaches Love
– wars                                                            – peace
– looks down on people                        – Helps people up
– Sits still                                                     – Goes out and reaches out to people
– Looks good on the outside               – Is good on the inside
– Christian by looks                                 – Acts it
– Goes to church only on Sunday      -Is the church
(-Church: Museum for good ppl.)     (Church- Hospital for the broken)
– Follow rules                                             – Hates religion and goes his own way
– Man made invention                            – Work of God
– Infection                                                   – Cure
– Bondage                                                   – Freedom
– Blindness                                                 – See
– Man searching for God                       – God searching for man
– Thinks of themselves                         – Thinks of you

I just talked with one of my relatives the other day and it is so clear. Why do we have these wars? Why do people hate Christians and what they do? Is it because of love? Is it because of what Jesus did? No. It´s because of what we do, what religion does to people. People want other people to believe in their religion, follow their rules and go with the stream. When God clearly states. We are not of this world. Don´t follow the stream, follow Jesus.

If we instead of fighting each other to get the power, Let God have the power, because it is his. The bible says to love your neighbor as yourself. (Mark 12:31 , Matthew 22:39) Not fight him till you win. We are not Gods, we can´t do anything in ourselves but we can do all things through him who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13).

Christians, we have to stand up for him. For the rightful king. Preach love and forgiveness instead of hatred and war. Nothing is solved through violence, and I think Jesus pretty much proved that when he died on the cross. People killed him and yet he came back. You win through love, not violence.

Yet there is another important thing in this. We have to love each other yes but don´t let love be the only factor. There are too many churches that goes around saying if we only love we get to heaven. Love is more than a feeling. If you truly love there will be action in it. Help your neighbor, Love with action, that is true love.

Dating unbelievers

Me and my boyfriend were discussing this yesterday and I wanted to blog about it. Some might get offended or such about it but it´s still very accurate and very real. Dating unbelievers. Since I´m a girl I´m gonna talk about christian girls dating guys who are unbelievers.

There are a lot of reasons for women to date unbelievers we think.

  • If she has been single for a long time
  • If he really likes her
  • If he goes to church with her
  • If he reads the bible with her.
  • ETC

Often women think they can change the man. Ive heard women say that they can change him and even tried but to tell you the truth you cant really change anyone, you can give them advice and try to help but the change must always come from within and usually guys who date believers have no intention of becoming a believer.

Sadly Ive seen the outcome too many times of both girls and guys who have dated unbelievers. The believer wants to make the unbeliever happy so they do things they usually wouldn´t.

A few examples from my own life: One of my friends at church completely stopped going to church to make his girlfriend happy. My best friend let her boyfriend sell weed to her friends. My friend even started sleeping with her guy to make him happy. That is not really what we want to see is it?

The bible says:  Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial?[b] Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?  What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (2 Corinthians 6:14-16) ESV

Another version for those who think this is a little weird: Don’t be teamed with those who do not love the Lord, for what do the people of God have in common with the people of sin? How can light live with darkness?  And what harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a Christian be a partner with one who doesn’t believe?  And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For you are God’s temple, the home of the living God, and God has said of you, “I will live in them and walk among them, and I will be their God and they shall be my people.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-16) TLB

apple%20and%20orange(I had to put this picture in cause I think it describes it so well) 😛

Another reason I wanted to write this post was because I just read an interesting post on a page I often visit about an 18 year old girl who had married an unbeliever. They still lived with his parents, his mom really wanted grand kids as fast as possible and he got mad if she wanted to work cause apparently girls are only supposed to be home wives.

The bible is very specific in that we should only date believers. This is not to be mean or to put rules on us but for our own best. Me and my boyfriend think scarily very alike 😛 but I also love it. I can be myself around him and I can praise God in all the ways I want and he supports me and joins in with all his heart because he believes the same and thinks the same.

God didn´t put this in the bible to force us to only date believers but to help us to a happier and more productive life. He loves us so why wouldn´t he?

What I´m trying to say is never settle for less than you are. If you have been single for a long time maybe its because you´re supposed to be. I found my boyfriend when I finally stopped looking and finally started loving God and following him completely.

For guys there is a great bible verse too 😉
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. “
( Proverbs 31:30 )

Kinda says itself don´t you think? 😀

So believers, we are not of this world.
Don´t settle for less than you are and remember God loves you 😀

First post, Redemption and old fashion

I was sitting at church today and wanted to start a new blog. A blog about life as a christian girl in Finland, about christianity in general, church and the bible. So here it is.

I was flipping through the pages of one of my notebooks and I found something very interesting that I wrote down once. I was at a christian leadership conference in England and the theme for this meeting was “A redemption” What caught my eye was this, how so many christians now a days just go with the flow. What the world likes, we like. That is not what the bible teaches us to do. We are not of this world. We should live in the world but not of the world. (John 15:19 ; 2 Cor. 10:3)

This is a quote from my notebook and from the preacher himself Andy Elmes. ” We have to be the ones who stands up and says no, we stand for the knowledge of God. We might be old fashion but oh well.”

This is really important for a now a day christian. Follow the laws of Jesus. If we are a little old fashion its all worth it. That is how God wanted it to be, not like it is today with the modern christianity.

“Where the knowledge of God is removed there will be chaos”

This we have noticed all over the world. A big example is actually the USA. They removed bibles and praying from school and instead put in metal detectors. Where you removed God and the bible, his word, chaos will follow. The bible is just a way of life. Simple, strict yet loving. Remove that and well what happens if you remove love, I think that is kinda obvious.

“There is a pointed time for stepping out of the boat”

If we are not teaching people to walk by faith we are robbing them from a part of their christian life. Every christian has started somewhere, gotten something from someone, a seed. Seeds need to be planted before you  can harvest. If you do not plant the seeds who will?

I will tell you a little story.

There was a man who suddenly got a picture in his head. This was an image from God telling the man to go visit a lady down the street. The man blew it off cause he didnt really wanna go visit the lady. A couple days later his mom came to him and asked if he knew the lady down the street. The man said that yes he knew her and wonderd why. Then his mother told him that she had been really sick and died. The man went up to his room and cried and asked God to forgive him.

By this story I want to tell you. Go where God leads even if you dont want to. You never know whats going to happen and what a little seed can do for a person.

We have a journey to Go as christians. Sometimes it might seem hard, sometimes easy but what we have to remember is not to follow the crowd but to stand out. Go against it and follow God. Its a challenge but so worth it. Thnks to God I have gotten to visit 21 countries in my 22 years…And this year its going to be my 22nd country. God blesses them who want to be blessed and helps them who want to be blessed.
This is my encourangement to you. Ask and you will recieve. Go and God will do remarkable things through you. All you have to do is take the first step.
